I can't get the idea of the topic really :icon14: especially coming from Auris owner. Sometimes when I read the forum I think is full of non Toyota sales people.

Yes I would recommend Auris to anyone. I know it has its issues but what other car then in the same price bracket? I downgraded from Golf GTI but I still think it was best choice possible according to my criteria.

Whats so much to get? It isnt a good car and so we are unhappy and we cant do much about it so were talking on this forum and sharing thoughts!

Ofcourse you have to be an owner to be unhappy or happy or do you expect someone driving a porsche to tell you this??!!

I feel as if you work for toyota!! :P

Rach,

You cannot honestly hope to come on a Toyota Owners Club Forum and find too many people that share your unfavourable views of the Auris.

Most of the Auris owners on here are quite satisfied with their cars..............There will always be some, like yourself, who after owning an Auris for a while, decide that they are not happy with their purchase.

I think that you are very much in the minority on this forum, however, your views are accepted, as we are known to listen to all members, (However misguided they may be ;) ).

Sorry that I am unable to comply with your RULES....................(Pink is not my favourite colour and thankfully TOC Management has not yet decreed that we should use multi coloured fonts.............although the air sometimes gets a bit blue :P ;) )

If you unhappy with something just change it- sell Auris and buy something you will be happy with. Why did you buy Auris in first place? Didn't you drive it?

I am not connected to Toyota in any way but I just don't like moaning about things as that doesn't change anything B)

Yes I would buy another Auris infact I have. I had a 3 month old Black Auris 2.0d SR and it was written off by a drunk woman. I am now awaiting the delivery of a white SR180 :D

Would I recomend one>? yes I would on the basis that the 3 months I had the 2.0 SR it seemed a good motor and I enjoyed driving it, it had a couple of niggles sloshing fuel tank and breaks squeeling but these things were not enough to put me off getting another one. Maybe 1 year down the line it may have been a different story I don't know?.

OK then, I will add my tuppenyworth

1) Buy another Auris - yes. Sure it has its problems with trim etc. but so do many cars. The new 6 speed gearbox should overcome my main criticism of my 1.6 being busy at motorway speeds and improve the economy at the same time.

2) Recommend the Auris - again yes. It is a fact of life that those who are happy with a car will not join / post anything, whereas those who have a gripe will. I joined the Vectra forum when I started having some major repair bills when it was 6 years old  - if you want to see complaints about a car look at that ,although to be fair it was older than any Auris so far. My sister had a 1.6 as a hire car and was really impressed with it and would certainly be interested if she had the money B)

Don't forget, forums are usually a Place where people go looking for answers to problems and aren't a middle ground for the masses.

I like my t180 and would suggest it to the right person.

Depending on the deal I would buy another. Next car likely to be an estate though.

Buying a car by imagined country of origin is illogical. Is an Auris Japanese, English or Turkish? Where is the Design Centre? Where are they assembled? Where are the majority of parts made? Toyota has European Design Centres, makes the Auris in the UK or Turkey - is there a difference and uses parts sourced internationally - where they are least expensive. All manufacturers do the same thing - they bring together parts and convince you that they are best at doing it.

Kind regards

Are you saying toyota europe works autonomous from the japanese hq?Last time i checked there is one TOYOTA and its a japanese company. Whether the parts or design are done elsewhere is not relevant. The sign off came from the japanese and ultimately is a japanese car. Regardless of what you perceive as 'logical' my next car will be a German car.

I had 5 japanese cars before auris. I was very happy with all of them until we bought the auris (i dont know if its Japanese made). Very unhappy with the very bad MMT and noises of the interior plastics and the uncomfort driving seat. also its very noisy with speeds more than 100km/h)

the auris belongs to my fiance so dont ask me why i bought it if i didnt like it. currently i own a yaris d4d and i am more than happy with it

So my answers...

No i wouldnt buy another auris.

But i would reccomend it to somenone who would like to have a cheap car that looks more expensive.

(I cant read with pink fonts. sorry)

Toyota cars still origonate from japan regardless of where they are built. I believe the auris was designed in france and built on production lines as you say. They are built in certain places for logistics, cost and capacity reasons for certain markets.

However the car is assembled and by whom it is still done with toyota design inside and all the parts were carefully decided upon and choosen by the engineers of toyota in or connected with japan hq, toyoyta city.

The auris could have and probably should have had slightly better interior and plastics should have been better. It is an oversight but the idea for the auris was to get a mechanically sound and reliable vehicle into the family market that was practical and priced very well. The quality of the parts from the hoses, seals and larger parts is good, toyota good. The itterative design process minimises the probability of failure despite more complicated designs for emission laws.

Toyota will move on from the auris to see whether the price point or the luxury mattered the most.

It isn't easy trying to modernise the worlds best selling car. :)

Hello auris owners or ex owners!!

Apologies for the bad start to this forum due to some "toyota extremists" but now i feel we have the ball rolling. This is what i was hopin to achieve. Some ppl are happy, others aren't. Fair enough.

Also great debate u got goin here about the actual origins of the car.

And yes i agree, the plastic trim is the worst feature of the car if not the only. I think my auris would be perfect without the rattles and damage to the trim by everyday normal usage. I mean they could have atleast had the fabric all the way to the top of the door panel and seatbelt panel like the corolla. Then the plastic wouldnt be such an issue as the doors are most likely to get scratched. The rest can be dealt with. Im not saying i hate it, just that its not as good as the old corolla or as competitive as similiar models such as Golf and Ford Focus.

GOOD WORK PEOPLE!! CARRY ON!! :P
