New Prius

Just had notification in a booklet from my dealer on the new Prius indicating that launch date is 01.08.09. There are no prices mentioned in the booklet but it is very informative and dispelled a lot of rumours.

I went onto the Toyota website mentioned in the booklet (www.toyota.co.uk/prius) but there was no mention of the new model.

According to an ad in the Washington Post, the cost of a new Prius in the US, including a $750 deliverey charge, with the present exchange rate at £1 = $1.59, will be

Prius II $22750 equivalent to £14308. + 15% Vat = roughly £16450

Prius III $23750 " "£14940 " " £17180

Prius IV $26550 " " £16700 " " £19200

Prius V $28020 " " £17620 " " £20260

It will be interesting to see how UK prices compare

The official launch date has not been decided yet, although our fleet guy seems to think it will be sometime in July, he hopes to get a demo late June/Early July

I have reference GBNGV-049PR-PS April 2009 on the back of the booklet sent to me by my dealer stating on the front the next prius 01.08.09.
