Dealer was in touch with me today to advise that they are expecting my new Aygo to be ready on 04/07/09. :D

I actually can't wait for it to arrive as it is the first new car I've ever been able to buy, so in a way I'm quite excited. Being in July though, it'll mean I have to tax my current car, but I suppose that is the way things go.

I'm going to be sad to see my Camry V6 go (I love these cars and if it wasn't for the fuel costs...), but all good things must come to an end. I'll miss the sheer refinement, oodles of power and comfort, but it's a changing climate, I'll probably cry when I hand her over. Looking forward to twice the economy at least out of the Aygo though.

When it does arrive, I suppose there'll be pictures, but don't a lot of people upload those? :)

Has anyone been quoted prices for fitting of the bluetooth system, it's something I may look into at some stage.

Don't worry too much about the road tax, because you can claim back unused months - I'll try and find you the link from the other thread.

Great to hear you've got an expected date! When did you order it?

Posted

Sealed it all two weeks ago, I've already downloaded the tax claim back form, I lose a month, but the five I get back will be enough to tax the Aygo for two years. :)

Thanks for offering to find it though.

Don't you LOVE the Aygo's cheap road tax! :D

Did you add any extras such as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)?

Nah, couldn't get VSC with the MMT transmission. Got a few things thrown, so I don't suppose I can complain. Even with the monthly payments and fuel costs, it'll be cheaper to run than my V6.

Yay! Another MMT owner :) Good luck with the order!

Such a small car and they are quite roomy as well for someone my size, reckon I'll be pleased with it, it'll take a while to get used to the lack of acceleration though.

I was very impressed with the space in the cabin when I sat in the Aygo for the first time. Both the headroom and legroom was very good - far better than what I had expected.

Is it a girl or a boy? have you decorated its room yet? B)

MMT can be great fun use it in M mode for going up the box and just let it change down when you get to junctions etc. or you want to drop it down a gear.

Ours'll live on the driveway :) but it'll definitely be a boy.

Hi. Drove a micra until 5 weeks ago when i took delivery of Aygo Black. Yes love road tax, £110 a year saved Insurance, spending £25 week fuel instead of £45 and priced up tyres....what a saving it will be, tyres for Micra were £82 a piece!!!!

Running costs were getting out of hand was surprised today how much I got in the back with seats down as well. Generally a good move I reckon.

Regards Maran

It is quite sad scrapping our Micra because other than the bust central locking (and of course that the car is made of rust), there really isn't anything wrong with it. It's going to take a while to make up the cost of buying an Aygo Blue, but the cheaper insurance, lower road tax and better fuel economy is going to be good :) ... And the Aygo is soooooo much prettier! And after this week's weather, air con will be nicely received!

I have the Autocar road tests of both the 1275 Micra Si and Aygo, it's amazing how similar the performance is, the Aygo just edging ahead in almost every area, it's the Aygo's 60.1mpg test average that is most impressive compared to the Micra's test average of 38.9mpg.

I'm considering both cars at the moment, a £1200 Micra Si could be enough for me. A new C1 VTR would be very nice though, the one I like with metallic paint and leather is £7700........ hummm what to do?

Our old Micra is a 1998 1.3 GX - a lovely little thing. Much nicer than the new models! I'm sure you'd love the C1, but of course £7700 is quite a sum of money to part with.

Well I bottled it, I only use a car once a week or so, and you really need to be using a new car to get your money's worth.

So I bought a 1999 Micra 1.3 on eBay 52.000miles £970, pick it up tomorrow, hopefully it will look as good as it does in the photos, also bought some refurbed wider alloys today, £60 on eBay, so £6500 can stay in the bank for now, it'll buy a lot of petrol!

Sorry for being off-topic :)

I wish you the best with your little Micra, I'm sure you'll love it!

What colour is it?

Thanks

It's the fairly dark metallic blue, a 3-door Inspiration. Coming up to Preston to collect, although the car has just come up from the London area I believe. Looks OK in the photos and I'm sure it'll do me for a few years.

LOVELY blue :)

Oh it'll last you for several years. Our Micra really is falling apart now, at 91000 miles, bit of a shame. Gearbox is knackered, handbrake doesn't hold the car, central locking busted :P

Shame to see you not joining the Aygo fold. But good luck with the micra ^_^.

Good luck to one and all with what ever car they get. :)

I just wish time would go a bit quicker so I can get my Aygo+ as I've just had my tax renewal through. :crybaby:

Still it is only a few weeks until I have the joys of 50mpg+. I'm dreading the calls from the local petrol station I use saying, where are you, we miss you, why don't you visit as much anymore? :D
