went on a 140 mile roundtrip last weekend and when I booted the car the needle moved down just a tad bit, until i reached my destination and the needle seemed to go up a fraction. might just be due to me easing off after slightly thrashing the car

The fuel gauge on my Verso stays indicating FULL for the first 100 or so miles then plummets to 3/4 full, stays between 3/4 and 1/2 for the next 200 miles then drops from 1/2 to 1/4 after the next 100 miles and from 1/4 until empty gives about another 100 miles.

In my last car you could fill the tank (according to the gauge) just by parking on a slope (drivers side higher than the passenger side) confused things until the next fill up.

500 miles or more from a tank. It's not the T180 just a standard 2.2 diesel.

No thanks, the other half already has a car that does that, 2 litre MX-5 Mk III (300 - 350 from a tank).

I would LOVE to get 350 out of my T180 !!! Even driving like an 89yr old man I have still never returned more than 250 out of a full tank of diesel. 23mpg around town if i'm really really lucky!

The short answer is yes. More so when cold or damp. During the first month of ownership I thought I had bought a Transit van :)

If you think your Verso is doing something it shouldn't the easiest way to check is pop down to the local Toyota dealer and ask to test drive another Verso of similar spec.

I an get 500 to a tank but I get 400 for the first half then 100 for the last half. Really annoying as it drops real fast for the last half a tank.
