Avensis Verso - Any Members Have One In St. Albans?

Hi

I'm looking for a helpful TOC member with an Avensis Verso in or near to St.Albans. I have an Ipsum 240U (part time 4wd) and would like to compare the two models re fitting a Brink (Thule) detachable tow bar.

The 4wd Ipsum is different in the boot 'hideaway' area, as due to the space taken up by the rear diff, the rear exhaust box is moved and now takes up roughly one third of the lower boot compartment space - what I'm not sure of is whether the dimensions of the Ipsum lower boot compartment are the same (in relation to the rear bumper) as the Verso as it looks very tight for space. I do know there is an exhaust bracket that I will need to relocate along with the heat shield....

Can anyone assist - could do with knowing it will fit before I splash-out ~ £280.....

Excuse my ignorance but I was not aware that the Avensis was made in a Verso form

Oh yes they did..... although not for too long. Around 01 to 04 (possible 06) I think - our Ipsum is a 02 but you can get much later versions from Japan as they still made them for the home market (damn better interior spec than the UK version as well....).

You do see them around (I know of two in St. Albans, although not who owns them :( ) - keep a look out, you will spot one eventually :D

The Ipsum 240 has the Previa 2.4 petrol engine, so is not underpowered like the UK version (at least that was the main criticism the press leveled against it at the launch - I've never driven one)
