Wheels- Anyone Swapped From Steelies To Toyota Alloys?

Hello, all.

Was cleaning my Aygo the other weekend and the plastic hub-caps are looking a bit tatty now. There's some corrosion on the badges and a few scuffs etc. I have had two of them replaced before and it was pretty cheap but I fancy a change.

Has anyone on here gone from the plain steel wheels to alloys on their Aygo?

If so, roughly how much did it cost for fitting, balancing, tracking and re-calibrating the speedo etc.

Rays CE28Ns in 14x6 with et38 go straight on with no problems if you use the bolts for the steel wheels. They are of course 1.5in wider than the stock wheels (steel or alloy) so you need 185x55x14 tyres. You can get McGard locking wheel nuts which seem quite good from Halfords for 35 notes.

They are probably the best wheels you can put on the car. Budget £1500 for four, although apparently the pound is gaining a bit against the yen so they might be getting cheaper.

The bolts for the Toyota alloys are different so if you go down that route I guess you will need bolts too.

The Style Pack seemed very good value for money as it came with alloys and [front] fogs. I liked the stock Toyota alloys but haven't come across many sets for sale...those that have are around £200. So it made sense to me to opt for this pack from new. I would have much preferred 15" alloys tho' ...

I've got 4 Platinum alloy wheels sitting in the garage doing bugger all. They are in NW Kent, not sure how much they are worth though, if someone wants to make me an offer on PM then feel free.

Are they 185 tyres on your alloys? Do you get any tyre rub against the rear arches?

Tyres are 185x55x14 and the wheels have et 38, which means no rubbing front or back

It's actually quite hard to get good pictures of these wheels. They look great in bright sunlight, but the camera pretty much always shows the wrong shade. Odd!

Doesn't include tyres and fitting though: how much do we reckon that could be? About £40 per tyre and £40 for fitting?

So that'd be about £650 for the whole kit and caboodle.

Hmm, gonna have to think about that one.

£460 with no rubber?! Yikes! I'm thinking around £400 all in. There's a couple of possibles on eBay. Not expecting top notch tyres for that price but I always buy the cheapest I can get, whatever!

The standard tyres fit original Toyota Aygo alloys as they are 4.5" wide, so all you need to do is get your tyres swopped onto the new alloys.

Like I said, I have a complete set of Platinum alloys and original tyres just sitting in the garage. For a driveaway price of £250 which will mean about £300 including petrol for you, so half price. Long drive though .... PM me if interested.
