Well just got in after night shift & managed to raise £115.00 in just under 3 hours so a BIG thank you to all those of you who donated, it will be taken to vets in morning so they can get these tests done. You are wonderful :group-cuddles:

Thank you again

Well everything has changed now, vets are not stupid are they! Working yesterday & they call to say the blood tests show she does have a hyper thyroid hence her skinniness, appetite & state of her that needs to be fixed & she is also free of any horrid things like cat aids etc. I said that was great & they then said that she could now be re-homed & as I had shown an interest would I like to take her (tomorrow)!! So instead of making her better at thier cost from donations/cat charities etc they figured, give her to me then I will have to pay for any future work which obviously includes an operation at a cost of £400!!! They reckon this is 35% discount to me. So how much profit are they making from peoples sick animals already then . So they had me cornered & of course I said yes so here I am at 4am trying to get stuff ready, I need to keep her in a pen for the first month or so & am writing up more leaflets now to deliver on my beat & also putting together an article for local paper to get monies. I should do it I hope but will get her fixed one way or another. Already got free grooming for her Saturday morning to get some more of this matt off her coat

Jaine

p.s just for info when vets rang the RSPCA to consider re-homing in case I said no, RSPCA advised that at her age with her illness (completely fixable) they would not take or if they did would get her put down !! They really are a rubbish animal charity, I used to work for them for two years so know & when we deal with them at work they are useless. Unless Rolf Harris is there with the television cameras they are not much help to people at all.

It was just that Jaine seemed so committed to help save Iggy, I just wondered how far that commitment went. :)

In my opinion, from PMs, she is very committed  In these times of recession she can't be expected to foot horrendous Vet's bills. If she gets some help from contributions, all the better. Maybe I am a mug, but I've been one all my life :( Too late to change now. I try to believe the best of everyone-sometimes I'm wrong.

Joking aside, i wish i had that type of commitment, i think we all wish them the best of luck

**** Iggy passed away this morning at 5.15 on my bed with her family all round her. I think that was all she wanted was to be home with people that loved her so she could stop fighting & relax. I will be refunding all the monies donated to me unless anyone wants thiers passed onto my local cat charity whop donated her cage & blankets etc, just PM if that is what you wish otherwise will be sent back to you later today when I am a bit stronger **** & yes to any doubters I would give up any material possession for any of my animals.

Thank you all so much

Jaine

I think that deep down you had prepared yourself for this outcome Jaine.

May I suggest that any outstanding monies are used here:

A very sad ending to a sad story. You fought a great fight for poor Iggy & did your best. No one can do more :( :( :kisss:

Hi Jaine,

We have an organisation called Blue Cross here in Ireland. I don't know if it exists in the UK, but they either charge very little or nothing as far as I know
