:crybaby:

Where do i start being a female who knows nothing about cars.

Right we have a avensis verso 2003 which has done 125,000 we have owned it since its birth lol... :0)

Apart from the intermitant problems with the engine warning light coming on and it losing complete power only to park up turn the engine off wait 10 mins and its fine which has been happening on and off for the past year for no apparent reasons we have had very little probs with the car.

My husband has changed break disks and plates and all sorts no probs also the fuel filter in an attempt to solve the above probs.

He is a vet and uses it for work but regardless of how much i've tried to get him to get rid of the car as i feel its only going to go downhill and become more expensive to fix he seems to love it and is reluctant to part with it

ANYWAY Recently we noticed a knocking on both sides hence my husband and his friend who knows a fair bit about cars and does most of his own repairs decided to change the cv joints on both sides.

At the weekend they took the wheel off and after 2 days and god knows how any hours found they could not remove the old cv joints from the drive shaft has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible that on the avensis verso you can't replace the cv joints on the drive shaft and have to buy a completely new drive shaft with cv joints already fitted?

The car is now parked up some 59 miles away at our friends house on jacks with no wheel on and with the drive shaft off and i'm panicking like you would not believe our friend has luckily lent us his spare car but as you can imagine time is of the essence what was meant to be a simply replacement of cv joints has turned into a nightmare situation any info would be greatly appreciated?
