Hey all,

Any of you have any experience with the TTE exhaust? Does it make much of a difference in sound/power? A video/soundclip perhaps?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The TTE exhaust silencer simply extends the silencer outlet pipe to exit from the centre of the car's bumper, instead of the offside. The only difference I could see was a twin exit. No power or noise difference.

If you go ahead with this entirely cosmetic £300 mod, you have no choice but to get the TTE rear bumper, else the silencer won't fit!

(by the way, the TTE rear bumper is a simple strip of plastic and mesh. Some material is cut from your existing bumper and the TTE rear trim is stuck into place)

Look up an exhaust for a C1 Cup Car if you're serious about a performance exhaust

That's expensive and there are other options.

This is my new exhaust which gives the same performance increase of about 6bhp without having to have a new manifold

£350.

Sounds more rorty low down but without the drone until you hit peak torque and then it's not too bad. So if you stick to 70mph on the motorway it is just as quiet as the original. It looks better as well than the original ( which you can't see of course! )

That looks a beast Andy :)

Any chance you can measure the width of the front track to the outside edges of the tyres, I need to decide how wide a trailer to buy, and I'll be having some biggish wheels on. I've just been looking at the rota slipstream wheels after I saw you mention it in another thread :)

Thanks

Hi Stuart,

I can measure front track and total width but as a point of note these wheels rub with 16x7 ET 38 offset and the Slipstreams are 6.5 ET40 so should give 4mm extra internal clearance and on the outside be 8mm less .. which sounds ideal to me. The current wheels just slightly stick outside the wheelarches but only by 2mm or so. The rubbing is annoying though, especially to my wife who lets me know about it al the time  :D

You want the front track because you are buying a trailer? I can't even get my head around that concept to be honest, mind you I am on holiday, it's hot and I have had a couple of beers ! ;)

Let me know if you still want the measurements.

Regards

Andy

Yes sorry Andy, I should have said I'm buying a trailer to transport the C1/Aygo I buy, to tow behind my campervan and then give me a car to play in whilst on holiday. I'm looking at a trailer with a bed width of 5' 7" I'm pretty sure that will be wide enough, but it would be nice to know for sure.

I'd be going with some 15" x 6.5" wheels.

Thanks

External width excluding the side mirrors is 1615mm according to the tech specs on

a folder i have. The car tracks at 1415mm both front and rear with stock 155 tyres.

5'7" is 1702mm if my math is correct, so you'll have about 43mm (1,7") on both sides...

Length of the car is 3415mm, the axles are 2340mm apart, overhang

in front is 645mm,rear is 430mm (all 3 measurements taken from

the centre of the wheels), the ground clearance is 121mm.

Thanks Jan,

I never thought of working it out like that.

Looks like I'll be needing some driving lessons from the guys who drive car transporters for a living, I've seen them driving onto the trailer with their head stuck out of the window so they can see where they need to be.

Thanks a lot for all the replies, all!

The C1 Cup exhausts definitely caught my fancy. Is there any place these can be acquired? Do they fall within noise restriction limits? Anyone here fitted this exhaust and has a vid? :) Cheers,

Andy, Snap except mine is the original one that they Dyno Tested. :D

Do you get any rattles/clonks from your exhaust?

Watch out for it rubbing on the bottom of the bumper.

Hi there,

It did used to clunk but it was clanging against the rear beam I think but it has stopped since being tightened up. Some different hangers are supposed to have been ordered which will increase the gap to the rear bumper, when or if they turn up we will see. It does feel a bit more peppy with the new exhaust but I am not sure if that is psychological :D

As per most low volume items they often need a bit of tweeking and "love" on them. Still looks and sounds great.

Regards

Andy
