Cam Belt Damage!

Hi all

like many others probably, ive joined cos i have a problem :rolleyes:

our Celica which is now on the third member of the family, has finally died whilst on the way to work :censor:

my question is, if it is the cam belt, which is what it sounds like from the descripion i got on the phone..... what is the likely damage to the engine....

btw... its an M reg 2ltr GT

Same problem with me, if you are lucky you can get away with no damage. But I would expect bent valves (aat least) and if you are unlucky possibly all 16. Broken valve springs, cam belt tensioner failure, worst of all is piston damage.

Cam belt failure can be one of the most expensive things to go wrong.

Costs can vary from as little as the cost of a new cam belt to as high as new engine internals! So basically a lot!!!

Sorry to hear about that btw, I am in the same boat!
