Speaker Cover Removal

Hello all....

Please may I start with apologizing not having been on for a day or month or so...

My work place has tightened the firewall (well sometimes by the look of things...)

And my internet connection at home is pretty much non existant at the moment....

Anywho, hopefully my work place will allow some fun from now on.... we'll see...

As to the question I have...

My beloved wife spilt sommet :ffs: and it has dried nicely on the passengers door speaker cover... Now I thougth this should be an easy fix... remove the grey/silver ring around the speaker cover, remove the cover and give it a good clean..

Well looks like I might be tackling this wrong

I thought that the silver surround would just pry off but looks like this aint the case...

Does this mean I have to take the whole door panel off just to clean the speaker cover???

As far as I know, I'm afraid so... Toyota usually integrate the speaker cover into the door cover, but fortunately the door cover is quite easy to remove. There's usually a couple of screws and the rest are clips. Don't know how the 4.3 is mounted, but if you had the 4.2, then I could give you a detailed description

Looks like this is gonna be a job an a half... and just to clean the speaker cover... might see if I can use a damp toothbrush to do the job... or even better get the wife to clean it up!!!
