My Blue, I am reliably informed, will be here late June.

My old car has a pretty good stereo in it that plays MP3's. Is there an easy way to take out the Aygo stereo and put mine in? From looking at pictures, it looks like you can, but some advice would be appreciated.

It's realy easy: pull off the blower knob, undo the screw that's revealed, then pull up the entire panel, starting

where the knob was. Pry open the seam at both sides untill all six snaps undo themselves. Now unplug the 2

(or 3 if you have A/C) buttons under the radio.Flip the panel up untill the hook at the top center disengages.

You now have access to the rear of the radio, undo the two ISO-connectors and the antenna.

To remove the radio from the panel you have to unclip it: there are two metal brackets on either side

and two platic ones on the top and bottom. Slide it out of the panel ad you're halfway there!

Before fitting the cage for you other radio put in a bezel to fill the gap left by the

weird shape of the radio's facsia. I recommend a bezel from Caliber, type RAF-2505,

looks better than the one from Peugeot and costs about the same (£10 to £15).

Put in the cage, bend the tabs and install everthing as usual.

The only thing you DO have to pay attention to is that you probably need to swap the red

and yellow leads in the "new" radio's wiring harness, else you'll keep loosing your settings.

And you might need to et yoursef an antenna-adapter: the lead in the Aygo is of the newer

150 ohm button-style, while a LOT of manufactors still use the slimmer old style 50 ohm plug.

If you have bluetouth I think you might need to swap a few more pins around?

No firsthand experience with the system in a Blue, but it probably plugs

in between the radio and Speakers, so no extra wiring is needed.

There might be a (yellow) lead on the mini-ISO on the back of the OEM radio,

if that's the case, connect it to the mute-lead of your new stero if it has one...
