At the Bullring, Birmingham from Monday 8th June to Sunday 14th June. Find it on the Toyota stand (the display is part of the Bullring's 'green week'), it's on the Lower Mall West, near the Debenham's store.

I see prices have also been confirmed. T3 = £18370, T4 = £19990, T-Spirit = £21,210. T3 and T-Spirit are the same price as the outgoing model, the T4 goes up by £835 (T4 now comes with bluetooth, smart entry and start, rain sensing wipers and 17in. alloys) . All models get a head-up display (this projects the road speed on T3 and T4, plus sat-nav info on the T-Spirit).

If the pricing is the same as the outgoing model, did the specifications change or did Toyota decide that the economy couldn't afford it? If the later, I wonder if the dealer is having to bear some of the reduction i.e. less bargaining room for the customer.

PS I'll be jealous if the new model has heated mirrors, that's the one thing I couldn't believe was missing on the Gen II.

We just ordered one on friday , I believe they do have heated mirrors . We ordered a pearl white T Spirit with leather , wanted the solar roof but if you add it the CO2 jumps to 101 g/KM because of the 17" alloys so they have to drop it down to 15" alloys from to meet the quoted emissions so we decided to forego the roof as the 15" alloys look rubbish . You could buy it with solar roof and 15's and then change them after its registered but I would imagine its costly and you'd be left with brand new 15's and tyres lying around . The spec I know it has is HUD(on all models) , sat nav , bluetooth , reversing camera with automatic parking , smart entry on all doors (T3 only has drivers door smart entry),17" alloys, upgraded Hifi with large capacity hard drive. It cost £370 for metallic and £1395 for leather , everything else was standard. The only options were protection pack which is a cargo net in the boot and rear parking sensors and a style pack which had chrome strips along the bottoms of the doors not sure of cost on those we did'nt like the look of them.

To my knowledge the technology pack folk are talking about was not an option . Toyota now have it loaded into the computer in the showroom which shows 360 degree panning images inside and out on the big screen tv , you can change the colours and add options to see what they look like on it .

@ DarronB

Congratulations on your purchase.

Do you know if the T Spirit gets LED Headlights and auto dimming interior mirror?

I am looking to get mine for March 1st

Did you get yours from Kings at Hedge End?

Thanks :)

Looking forward to the MkIII, just for the technology behind it though. Not fussed in the slightest about the hybrid, it's all about the toys. :D

Not sure about the headlights or mirror , Toyotas own info is very vague , I really only got the little blue brochure as everyone else did , the screen in the dealers is good it shows clear exterior and interior photos but the dealership have no brochures yet and if you try to build one on Toyotas website it still uses the Prius 2 . I live in Northern Ireland so bought it at local dealer Charles Hurst.

That sounds like a good definition of irony. The car with added "green" credentials (solar power) actually has worse green credentials CO2 emissions.

Yeah I know its ironic , I think the solar roof looks great on it but they say it adds so much weight that it increases the emissions

It also does not charge the batteries as some press reports have claimed , all it does is power small fans inside to keep the cabin cool when the car is parked in hot temperatures which lets face it doesn't really apply to UK ! Other than that the solar panels have no function other than looking cool.

I don't think I will believe the specs until I physically see it in the flesh :)

Actually the solar roof does nothing for the cars performance or batteries , its purely a sunroof and the solar panels run cooling fans inside to keep the cabin cool when the car is parked in the hot weather. I've seen some Prius 2 in America with solar panel conversions over the whole roof and those guys say they can drive up to 6 miles in town driving with only the solar panels charging the batteries and the engine never starting, I think they were getting well over 100 MPG !!Problem was they had interfered with the batteries which invalidated the warranty. It looked like the yanks have a kind of competition going to see who can make the greenest Prius least emissions and most MPG !
