I drove home from Perth yesterday night and on the A66 i got snowed on for a brief while the temperature dropped down to 2C, it really was bizarre after the glorious weather we have just had. I will try and get a pic up of the snowy hill tops.

Maybe this is me being daft but i cant recall it happening before, has anyone else seen any of the white stuff??

This image is a bit rubbish, my passenger didn't bother with using zoom! Above the truck on the top of the hill you can see the snow, or you can when you zoom right in ;) it seemed quite exciting at the time, it looks rather less so now

Bizarra I don't completely buy this thing about the cows causing so much harm - because i come from a farming background - the thing is that if the gases really were that harmful then the farmers milking them should have health issues as a result - but they don't. Yes if you agitate slurry in a slatted house then the methane levels raise to very dangerous levels - however if im outside the same shed standing say 25 feet away then im safe. People have died because of been inside a shed where slurry is been agitated because methane levels rose too high and they didn't get out in time. However modern sheds have overcome this issue by having all the agitation points outside (so you don't need to go in the shed to agitate slurry. I do realise though that your only messing with the comments.

Theres no doubt though that the weather is changing due to global warming - what is slightly questionable though I think is just how much of this is actually natural and how much is down to the activities (like using cars) of the human race on earth.

Don't worry , Mate :P , I'm from a farming background, myself, & several family members still are in the business ! There is a story, proven or not, that cattle emit large quantities of CO2.Probably propaganda from Green Vegetarians  I have done my bit at cattle & sheep herding & know that it is harmless to man.

An aside, as usual  Way back in the old days when we did the milking by hand, I walked into the cowhouse while it was going on, was told to open my mouth & got a squirt (well directed) straight from the cow's udder. Ah, those were the days when I was young & innocent & used to get the dirty job & the rear of the Threshing machine, shifting chaff. If you've never done it, DON'T.

We didn't have slurry then, just well rotted manure, which probably was a lot less harmful. It used to be a very heavy job, digging it out of the pile & loading it, all manually, for spreading. :(

End of nostalgia attack :lol2:
