Replacement Lambda Sensor

I am trying to source a pre cat Lambda/Oxygen sensor for a 1.3 Yaris ( Year 2002, built in France ) but I can’t find one for my specific engine code which is 2SZ-FE (also CP10 ). However I have found plenty of pre cat sensors for a 1.3 Yaris with an engine code of 2NZ-FE (also NCP10 ) .

Can anyone tell me if there is a major differences between these 2 engines which would mean that the Lambda sensor for the 2NZ-FE engine is incompatible with mine.

I am only aware of a small difference in size between these engines i.e 2SZ-FE is 1298 cc (64 KW) 2NZ –FE is 1299 cc (63 KW).

Most suppliers I have contacted have said they could only supply me with the correct part if I give them the existing part number . I can’t see any ID number on the part itself and I doubt that the dealer would tell me what it is so I was wondering if there is any other way of obtaining this info ?

I have found one sensor for sale which claims to be compatible with my engine but it does not state clearly whether it is the pre or post cat sensor and I suspect it is the latter. From my own research I doubt the pre & post sensors are the same ( different connector for a start) but if anyone knows different that would solve my problem.

My last resort will be to get robbed of £280 by my local Toyota dealer to get a new part fitted by them.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

For a genuine a Toyota part PM Parts-King on here. Any local garage can fit it. Will be alot cheaper than getting Toyota to do it.

For aftermarket OEM quality part Fuel Parts UK (FPUK) should make one. http://www.fpuk.co.uk/main/indexfuelparts.asp

You can purchase from AutoBits www.autobits.co.uk. Have bought sensors from them and they use FPUK to supply them.

2SZ-FE and 2nz-fe are totaly different engine, 2sz-fe as u said are french and the 2nz-fe are made in japan. the exhaust manifolds on the 2sz-fe are on the front of the engine and on the 2nz-fe are on the back. i wud say its a differnt exhaust system so i dont think the sensors would be the same
