Panic over for the time being.........will post in dealer reviews late

toyota dealer Silsden West yorkshire (Darren)

this man could not have been more helpfull. Told him the problem i was having and that the car was in another garage that originally fitted the alternator. so his responce and quick timings were not due to fact that he might get a sale out of the phone call.

He took all the details of my motor, engine numbers etc and tried to find me an alternator that fitted as they are no longer made for the MKii supra. He advised me that it was not a good idea to place a reconditioned one on engines over 2.0 and would recommend a new one.

well within 30 mins he rang me back and told me that BOSC (maybe wrong spelling) were able to supply one direct from the warehouse and deliver to the garage were my car was within 24hrs.

billy bonus when i was told by three other garges that they were unable to get the part at any cost.

WELL DONE TOYOTA SILSDEN

Bosch doesn't sell new nippon denso alternators, only refurbished. In the USA I can get that part from at least 10 suppliers. Don't panic next time. ;)

It's a shame to let her go :crybaby: It is a really nice car and it's been so well looked after.

Might not come to that yet Jerry. think i may have found a way that i can have my cake and eat it.............found a 1992 MK iv for £5400. which means i may not have to sell the MKii to finance the MK IV.....will just have to see........unless i was to let it go to a club member.......that would be a different story........:eek:

Hi Gus

You are determine to hang onto the old girl ah!!! I can see why. You have spent a lot of money and time on her and it would be a shame to let her go to any old tom ***** or harry. Keep us posted with what you decided to do mate

Yeah dont i know it and the bank manager knows it too........my heart says keep her.....the bank manager and her who must be obbeyed say get shut for as much money as i can get......but we both know i wont get whats she's worth or even get back what i've spent on her......the most likely thing to happen is i will sort her out AGAIN :ffs: have a full valet cover her and she will only come out to run the engine and for the shows........bit of a waste i know but at least that way she is looked after and more people can enjoy looking at her at the show's.in the long run the older she gets the more she should be worth HOPEFULLY

Hi Gus

Well i think thats the best thing to do mate. If you really dont want to depart with her then keep her. And like you said just take her out now and again and bring her along to the shows mate. At least you will be happy that she's in good hands still. That's only if you can afford to do that mate.
