4.1 Spongy Gearbox

hi yall

my 4.1 fatboys gearbox seems spongy. its all the back gears, 2nd 4th and reverse. she only has 50k miles, my other 4.1 with 120k miles has a perfect gearbox. im going to change the gearbox oil, can anyone recommend the best oil to put in? or anything else that might help? ultimately do u think il need to replace the box, is this a common 4.1 problem?
