Mk2 Non-turbo To Turbo?

Recommended Posts

Hello forum, im wondering what would be involved in converting my standard Mr2 Mk 2 2.0 tbar to a turbo?

I have a full doner car and am wondering if it's as simple as throwing tha parts on. I'm aware that a turbo, intercooler, manifold, ECU and piping is needed but is there any hidden other little parts that would be needed?

Cheers

You need the whole engine really. The head and pistons are different. As is the bottom end if I remember right.

It's usually better to just sell the NA and buy a Turbo.

Imports are looked on more favourable than engine swapped cars for insurance too.

A mate of mine is doing exactly that. We both work in the industry so any info I get from him I will pass onto yourself.

The wiring loom is deffinatly different, all be it only small differences, not that they will effect the overall running of the engine but you will not have the turbo boost guage etc.

Any info I get I will happily pass on.

Swap the rear clip with the donor car as nothing really matches.

As said, you are better to sell up and buy a tubby.

Thanks for the relpies.

Sounds simple enough if you have all the parts but they are hellish to work on and i dont think i have the time or space.

Might just wait till im 21 in October and by myself a wee turbo :)
