hello

i have a toyota avensis t2 d4d year 2004 and it is due a timing belt change,my question is how hard is it to do this job and is it usual to change the water pump at the same time i have changed the timing belt in a carina petrol before without any problems and i was wondering were there any problems to be encountered on the d4d engine.

regards

To willied.

If your changing belt, make sure you change water pump as new belt can kill old water -pump bearings within a couple of weeks. I now no longer change belt on these engines unless owner agrees to change water pump as well. Its not hard to do , just a bit time consuming & make sure you use original parts.

Regards, Beagh.
