Various New Parts For Service

Gents,

Have bought all the various parts for servicing my Toyota Avensis 2.0l VVTi - oil filter (it's small!); 5 litres of oil (10w-40); air filter, sump plug washer, spark plugs.

I have a few questions....

1. Are there any torque settings to be used when tightening sump plug and spark plugs?

2. Is there any other oil plug that has to be opened to allow proper release of the oil other than the sump plug?

3. Is the oil filter easily accessible from underneath the car?

4. Am presuming the best way of gauging the amount to use on a refill is keeping an eye on the dipstick or do you measure out 4.4l and just pour it in?

Any other things I should look out for?

Thanks in advance.

Ken

I think it's 30NM for the sump plug. The oil quantity is in the owners manual at the back.

1. There are torque settings for everything that is tightened.

2. No. But removal of oil filler cap will let air in and let oil flow easier.

3. Yes

4. Pour in approx amount of oil (a little less) then check dipstick. Run engine at idle, watching for oil pressure light to go out, allow to idle for 30 seconds or so and switch off. Check oil filter for leaks, allow oil time to settle, re-dip and top up.
