Gen 7 Remote Start Problem...

HI there

Recently I had a car alarm fitted with a remote start feature.. The feature works and all, however there is a problem... when the remote start activates, the engine starts and runs, when the key is inserted and turned to ACC, the starter motor initiates and of course makes the loud Kkkeeettchhhh sound and the engine dies. If I am quick enough and crank the key from OFF to ON, its ok, the revs drop, but pick up again.

The installer has looked into this twice and has come to the conclusion that the electrics in the celica seem to have some kind of link to the "live engine start" when in ACC mode, hence why the starter is engaging at the ACC level.

Was just wondering if there is any auto electric celica fans (gen 7) that could verify this and if they have had similar problems with remote engine start alarms in the celica?

Just to note also, mine is a 6 spd manual and the installer had to disable the "clutch start" - could this somehow be interfering the with start process and ACC?

Many thanks for any advice I could pass on to my installer, who had looked at the system a couple of times and is not sure whats going on.
