I'm a newibie here, so please be patient! I have a 92 Paseo and recently my overdrive light is coming on (blinking). Any idea what kind of code or warning this may mean for me? It has a 1.5 L engine and I may also mention that the speedometer quit working,if that may be part of the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Hi mate to save time you would probably be better going to a toyota garage and asking them to plug in the diagnostics tool

then you will have a clear idea as to whats wrong and how much its going to cost rather than doing it yourself let us know how you get on.

Thanks for that advice....but I had a bad expeience with my '01 RAV 4 at a Toyota dealership once. Took it to them with a slipping 1st gear in the A/T tranny, advised them that I was told it could be a $1000 computer replacement ,due to many owners having the same problem. Toyota told me the diagnostics said bad tranny. I gambled and put in a new computer and tranny ran like new,and still does. Saved $6000 by not buying new tranny.

This is why I am posting with this forum, hopefully will save me some $$$ by not taking to a dealer and betting someone will have an answer.

Thanks again!

you can run a diagnostic yourself you know.

All you need is a paper clip.

This is from the Sera club, but it's virtually the same car underneath the finery. There should be a map of what contact is what under the lid of the diagnostic port in the engine bay. Follow the instructions and post back with what you find

Good luck
