Hi All

I have just bought a Rav4 50K miles on a 55 plate. The local garage that sold me this car has a good reputation.

It is covered by Olympic Warranties of Leeds, they will get in touch with me to arrange an upgrade to my cover.

I have had a look at one of the forums and Olympic Warranties do not get a good word said about them.

Can anybody recommend a good warranty company.

Thanks

Most on here seem to think that aftermarket warranties are not really worthwhile, they usually encompass a fair wear + tear clause which at 50,000 miles should anything go wrong (Which on a Rav is unlikely) they will simply put it down to fair wear +tear.. however i know nothing specific about Olympic, they may be the exception, lets hope so.. Stew

PS if you let us know the model petrol/diesel it may help in future replies, Welcome to the club..

hi jonjo1

welcome aboard!

i have taken extended toyota guarantees out since my 2nd hand '52' reg,1 year g/tee expired, and in 3 years i have only had audio unit fixed, and fuel filter part replaced, that was under a 'toyota service bulletin'.

nothing has gone wrong with my rav d4d,in the 50'000 miles ive covered in it...not even a blown bulb.

but its still good to know that the warranty is in place...should i need to claim, which includes full rac cover, and only bodywork and interior not covered ( bodywork dont go wrong, and interior isnt mechanical)

it costs me £50 a month for the the cover inc full r.a.c,...compared with the possible toyota labour £80...... per hour, crazy money... if anything goes wrong with it.

but my warrany expires in oct this year, rav's just dont go wrong, speak to any AA or R.A.C person

hope this helps
