Toyota Sat Nav Dvd

Hi All,

I'm a new owner of an '07 D-4D TR that has the built in Sat Nav. The nav has a touch-screen and the numbers B9010 on the bottom right.

The DVD I have is Europe West E10 2007-2008 Version 1.

Is this the latest version of the DVD? I am disappointed that the satnav does not have post-code entry neither does it have speed camera info. Are there any plans to include these on later editions of the DVD?

I have not used the satnav much yet, is it any good? What are its main selling points? I recently bought an RAC satnav for about £70 that has postcode entry and free speed camera updates for life - I may revert to using it instead of the on-board one, which seems a bit of a waste.

Thanks in advance,

Neil.

Hello! I can't answer some of your questions but i do have the 2008-2009 ver 1 DVD set TNS310. Like you i am not really impressed with the satnav but then again mine is a 2006 car registered 2007 so it does not have the large touch screen which i think is the TNS700. I do not really use satnav myself so the whole system is wasted in my car. I am running the single 2006-2007 disc but as i say i have the 2008-2009 double DVD but as yet not opened the package which came as part of the deal with my car, they said it was worth about £175.00! Most people say you can get a good TomTom satnav for a lot less than the update disc plus speed camera warnings as you said.

Regards ... Pete.

Big SatNav is the TNS700. I think the TNS500 is the one that pops up from the top of the dash and has a remote. I really want one of those but don't know anywhere you get them from. I have the TNS310 as the moment and hardly use it at all. Does anyone know if i should just keep the disc out as you can hear the disc everytime the ignition is turned on and with it spinning all the time not putting wear on the DVD drive???

if it's a TNS700 it has Postcode entry (not great but it has it).

I think that there is a 2008/2009 E11 edition.

I agree i have just sold a 07 Tr avensis and it had the TNS700 sat nav and it did have postcode entry and it was not very good.
