Hello everyone

I have joined the forum to seek help as my local Toyota garage can't!

I have had my 08 reg Avensis since January. It has 16k on the clock and for the past month it has developed what seems like an engine missfire. This doesn't happen at all when the car is started cold and then run until engine is fully warmed up. It only happens if I then stop the car and turn the engine off for a few minutes and then drive it again - Its much worse when just feathering the throttle - If I accelerate it doesn't seem to be there. I have parked up and then just revved the engine and between 1200 and 2000rpm the engine feels like its really vibrating around. As soon as the engine has fully warmed up again, the problem dissappears! My local Toyota garage have had it in and plugged it into the diagnostics and said that they can't find any problems and they said that they downloaded the software to the ECU again and that this solves 9 out of 10 problems. needless to say it didn't work for my car. Toyota changed the ECU under warranty during the 10K service as part of an upgrade. I didn't notice any proble until approximately 15k.

Can anyone help please? :(

hello mate

check with threes:

- fine filter (diesel's) condition;

- air presence in injection system;

- fuel valves injectors

the problem must be there.

Cheers/Igor
