T180 Alloys

Been a while since I have been on the forum but I'm spending more time (and money) with my Gen 7 Celica TS than the Auris.

Lots of carbon front and rear and brakes updates.

Anyway back to the T180. It's 26 months old now and covered 31,000 miles. At the 30,000 mile service I pointed out that all four wheels are corroding badly on the leading inside edges of the spokes. Apart from that the rest of the wheel is fine.

It appears the original fitment T180 17'' Pitlanes are not well protected in this area, sharp edging, no paint or laquer. It's a design fault.

Toyota have agreed to exchange all four and I'm booked in for next week.

Next owner will probably get the benefit out of it as I expect to change the Auris for the new petrol RAV4 in August.

Just came across this post and Im in to get my alloys replaced next wk. I have a 2007 t spirit and noticed the paint coming of my alloys the other day. I have covered 29500 miles at the min. And I didn't think that the wheels should have corroded so quickly. so luckily enough car still covered on warranty and they have agreed to change them....

The RAV is off the list now. Anyway for performance fun I have my Celica TS. The Auris T180 is more my wife's car.

It looks like we are going for the new Prius as the family run-a-round. Have owned both the MKI and MKII pertol RAVs in the past.

Why not wait and get the Auris hybrid as I would expect this to be a better car, if it must the Prius then wait until the Auris hybrid comes out and the Pruis will be a lot cheaper;)
