Rust Developing On 3 Yr Old Aygo

Just wanted to ask on behalf of a mate whose immaculately looked aftered and weekly washed Aygo has developed a couple of signs of early rust showing on the roof of his Aygo. Basically, they are the size of a 5p coin and best described as a small pin sized rust spot with the surrounding paintwork bubbling around it. This to me is an indication that the paint will eventually crust over and peel off leaving rust behind.

What I'm asking on his behalf, is would the paint warranty cover the rust being rectified at his local Totoya garage? Any comments I would welcome to pass on.

it should be 6-12 years on paintwork, but check with dealer.

I believe it's 12 years warranty against rust from within.

So inside out, leaving holes in the bodywork...

I think that there was a known problem on some (but not all) Aygo's with signs of rust forming at the top of the windscreen at each side of the roof, by the roof joints.

I am sure that it has been posted on here some time ago and Toyota sorted the problems if I remember correctly

We too have an Aygo (56) that has developed small spots of rust (size of 5p) on roof by top of windscreen and corner of roof joint with front pillars. I have noticed other posts about same problem - Could Toyota have a problem with the paint or coverage? Or could we all just be getting stone chips in exactly the same place ?

Would like to know how your friend gets on,
