Avensis Verso Speed Issue

Hi there! I

have Avensis verso d4d 2002.I have been driving my car about 1 year,but my car has problem with speed.In 3rd it goes as far as 80kms and then now matter how hard you push the accelerator its doesn't go any faster. It feels as if every gear has some kind of limiter. In 5th it doesnt go faster 130kms. Any ideas?

sounds like you may have a speed limiter or maybe cruise control have a look at your owners manuel failing that go to a

toyota dealer and ask them to plug in the diagnotic.

each HP fuel injection pump is allowed to adjust a cycle portion of diesel.

i feel the problem is there. WHether you have been repairing fuel injection system before?

May be another simple problem with fine fuel filter clogging strarting that allows a limit of diesel to pass thru resulting this issue.

the pump canot be electric but only solenoids are controlled by el. signal. the pump is driven by means of timing gear.

but the problem is still actual. another question -- what is the link between gas pedal and the pump itself? is it some levers or just el link?
