Washers Not Working

Hi all,

I really hope you can help me, I have a st202 1993, gen 6, Jap import.... and I love it hehe

Right the front and back washers have stopped working, The motor on the bottle does not make any noise

I read on here that there are 2 motors, 1 for the back and one for the front, If this is true then i find it hard to believe that both motors have gone at the same time.

What else could be the problem????

Please help

Thanks

Stef

fuse ?

Thanks for the fast reply

The only fuse i can find is one for wipers in the inside fuse box and that is fine....

Ive also looked in my manual and it says that there is 1 washer motor that works both front n back but the book is for U.S Models

2 motors otherwise when you wash the fronts it would wash the rear . you need to remove the inner wing liner on the side the bottle is located to access the motor. Then test the motor for power to it .

  • 2 weeks later...

On my gen5 GT there is one pump, with two outlets, and a 3 pin plug. Not sure if the 6 will be the same. Your right about the fuse, it supplies the wipers too so its not likely but worth a check.

Mine had siezed, so i fitted a single outlet pump from an MR2 for 99p off ebay- the rear one never worked anyway and I'm reliably informed that a rear washer is not an MOT requirement.
