Exhaust Troubles

Hi there new member here

Ok so here is the problem, I recently got my hands on a 96 plate 1.8 Celica 7a-fe engine model 202. Now i've been told its a UK car but finding parts for it is becoming a bit of a ......pig.

A few weeks ago i noticed the exhaust starting to get louder, so i stuck my head under and found it was blowing in several places. After getting it up on the ramp i found it needed the front pipe ,cat and centre sections replacing.now the cat was no problem to find, front pipe was a different story.

i went to the local garages lets just say they were not much help.same story they can not get the correct parts blah blah blah. so i found on online company called online automotive, i was assured they would send the correct pipe technically they did it was only later on i realised the hole for the lambda sensor was different. the one on my car has 2 bolt holes either side the one they sent was for a screw in version. now i have tried to find the correct front pipe i have had a lot of people looking for me to no avail :( (even resorted to scrapyards).i have been told they changed the sensors 3 months into 96 true or not i have no idea.

now my question is if i buy a lambda sensor that is the screw in version will this mess up the running of the car?, or should i let someone moddify the new front pipe to accept the old lambda?

As for the centre i cannot find anywhere that does them supplys say they supply them but there out of stock an there supplyers do not know when there making them  . so looks like i may have to go stainless from cat back

i went to a company that quoted me £700 to use the parts i have bought plus stainless cat back and a new lambda' to be honest if it was a GT4 i probably would do this but as its a 1.8 i am reluctant (also low on car funds :( )

any advice or help is welcome here as i have nearly been without my car for almost a month making it very difficult to get to work an such

im almost certain you can buy an adapter plate . for times when the threads are stripped etc .

the celica did change halfway through 1996.
