How Far On Your Top 'blob' Of Petrol?

Recommended Posts

How far have you managed to go on your first 'blob' of petrol?

For my experiment I filled the tank until I could get no more petrol in it. I then drove until the petrol gauge had removed the top 'blob'. I was about 30% town driving and 70% dual carriage way.

I managed to get 119 miles. :D

Out of interest my second blob disappeared after 81 miles (doing exclusively dual carriage way driving) so I guess this shows that the petrol 'blobs' are proportionally smaller as they decreased; which is probably why the gauge is angled and narrower at the bottom

I know the IQ is good on petrol and all that, but dont you worry about what would happen if you had a bad crash or even a minor

one, i cant help thinking that you wouldnt servive it,the car just looks so small ,i have seen what happens to people in accidents in large cars

i dont want to put a downer on your new car, I just think safty is the thing that should come first over economy.

If you think safty is the thing that should come first over economy than i assume you drive a 40 tons truck?.......................you'll get beaten by a train anyway.

Out of interest, my second blob went after 43 miles?! Is that normal?

I got 81 on the second one -- The level indicator is clearly smaller with each 'blob'

Filled up about 30% town work then went on a 71 mile run ten another 71 mile home. First Blob 116 miles, second Blob 67 miles.

How many litres in a tank full?

Posted

I filled up with 26.99 when it was flashing on its last bar. I don't know how much fuel is left from the last blob to empty.

A full tank is 32 litres

I think it's all pretty random to be honest!

My first blob went yesterday at 152.2 miles and then the second went today on 178.3.

I get anywhere between 300 and 350 miles before it starts flashing at me.
