Hi,

Just bought a toyota yaris gs that seems to have a yellowy looking dashboard and trim, don't think it was owned by a smoker as it doesnt smell, as the car is over 9 years old would assume sun yellowing.

Is there anything on the market that would improve the condition and colour of the trim

thanks

Try some good quality bumper gel type stuff, similar to back to black for bumpers but for interior use.

Apply it on an old sponge and give it a good coating all over untill it's smooth and even.

If you buy some in aerosol form, don't just spray it all over the dash though. The stuff will coat the inside if the windscreen making it horrible to clean off!

Bumper Care by Auto glym is good.

I used it on the exterior of my car and made it look as new.

Colour coded now though so no need for it :D

You can also get some silicone spray that gives it a nice shine when its cleaned.

Stuff at work is called cherry sheen. smells beautiful

Hi, i joined the forum a couple of days ago after buying a w plate yaris 1.0 litre. I have a similar issue on my steering wheel. Its gone a funny yellow colour in parts...should be grey. I have tried a few things including Doctor Power that seems to clean absolutely everything else brilliantly, but in didn't change it one bit. It seems impregnated...a bit like a smokers fingers...rather unsightly but can't change it. I am considering either painting it or changing the wheel.

I know this doesn't really help you but, you're not alone on this one.

IF YOU FIND ANYTHING TO GET RID OF THAT YELLOWY COLOUR I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED. GOOD LUCK ;)

i use STP "tuff stuff", works amazingly, my car was pre-owned by a smoker, stp took most of it out.

i haven't seen a yaris with a sun damaged dash before, so i am not sure if it is.

stp tuff stuff and a dish sponge gets out most of the icky stuff, then i put on some armaroll plastic protection...works wonders!!!

my steering wheel was sun and smoke damaged, i used as much of the stp i could and then sowed on a wheelskin to fancy it up and get a better grip.
