I stopped off at the bank yesterday in Baton Rouge and saw this Land Rover parked out front. Do y'all reckon he brings it back to Guy Salmon's for routine servicing?

Well spotted

Possibly bought by an American serviceman whilst in the UK and personally shipped back home.

It appears to be LHD. He probably got the cover off eBay.

It is LHD.... I am sure I can see the curve of the steering wheel :)

Thats what I thought... plus the tail lights look decidely "yank spec"...

That said I don't do Landrovers... so I'd not really know... they may have some freakish curved bulge shaped glove box for all I know....If you want a decent 4x4, and you life depended on it, go Jap!

Hundreds of Taliban can't be wrong!

Good spot though... it does crack me up.. its like the German style "pressed" number plate people put on VW's with the mock tax/insuance dots... and the million "JDM" style bits on eBay for UK cars lol.

I like the "JDM" keyrings you can get if you do an M3 search on eBay.... :hammer:

Funny you should mention that. There's a fellow at my workplace that drives a '60's era VW Beetle and he has a fake German plate on the front! Here in Louisiana, we only have rear plates, so anything goes on the front.

Yes, if I lived in Texas or California I would have an ugly plate tacked onto the front bumper. I think it looks much better like this:

I read the other day that in Nevada it's not all that frowned upon having slicks on road cars in the summer :D that's mental! (yes, I know it rains less there!)

Yep, as long as I'm not a permanent resident, I can visit as long as I want. My driver's license, registration papers and plates are valid in all 50 states.
