Chilli Red 1.33 On The Way To.... Me!

Went down to the dealer yesterday, bit the bullet and got my 1.33 chilli red with isport ordered. I had previously asked the salesman how long from order until delivery (about 2 weeks ago). He said about 6-8 weeks until uk delivery plus 2 weeks for fitting isport kit. Thought that was fine. Went down with my order yesterday, expecting to be told same info again so was going to get it september. And guess what... no you're wrong, not a delay, he said "hang on" and went in to the sales manager, came back and said "we actually have one on order the exact spec i want thats coming in to group demonstrator stock, i can sell you that if you like" I asked how long till delivery, he said "July 7th, give or take a day or two!!!!! That only 10 days!!!!!!!!!! Did i do the sensible thing and wait for the new plates in september.... no, snapped it up from him. B)

Got a bit of a agro on finance quote. He went away, came back and said the system for quoteing an iq3 was not online until monday but he did me a quote for iq2 and modified thefigures to give an unnoficial quote. All finances were agreed and he said on monday he would call me with the official quote for exact money and i just have to sign paperwork before i pick up car. I had a salesman that didnt try to sell me things! A dream come true. I told him at start i wanted to order car now, pay with finace and have option pack fitted, but he had to do me a favour and get me a discount. Got me a few hundred pounds off list price and he told me if i had come down monday and ordered, there was a small pricerise planned which i avoided. I know it could be saleman talk but he did seem genuine about that (i know salesman usually and this guy seemed ok) Said it was due to previous rising yen cost as exchange rate has caught up with things. Total saving £370. Think this was ok.

Been waitng since december for this car since i saw it, but knew i had to wait for bigger engine as i would hate myself if i gave in and got the 1 litre. (fuel economy is low on priority list, i just love the looks but eco driving is fun!) I did testdrive the iq2 though on launch date :P All was great just a tad slow, thought if it just had a little more power it would be spot on. Buying the 1.33 is a gamble that i will like it. I do have my classic mini with race tuned engined if all else fails ;) with a nice fresh MOT!

Bet there are already loads of you with red iq3's but im excited anyway, even if im last to get one.

i am sure the economy by then will be booming again making exchange rates great again so i am sure the price will go down down down... maybe not :D Its such a shame i could not get scrappage discount. Its so annoying that a banger with a MOT is worth £2000 but my car is under 10 years old but not worth £2000 Mad world. Anyway, money does not matter when your heart is controlling your wallet. ;)

ITs just the fact i can get it in 10 days and my 2 weeks holiday from work is in 4 weeks time which allows 14 days of iq crusing around seaside destinations of england. If i bought in september, next holiday is in december so seaside at christmas is not quite as sunny. :D

Now where is TRD with the tuning options? Feel i need chip, exhaust, supercharger, nitrous, jet engine with afterburner, atomic fusion reactor and fury dice!
