My 4.2 has rails, but also I noticed the sliding slots under the rails - what are these for?

what Roof Rack do you recommend?

Mine were on already as it's an XTR and they are standard on this model.

Just to say, although I have the Toyota I'm sure other brands of cross bars will work fine.

Had a few estates in the past with rails on and seem to remember various bars worked OK.

I would check out the Thule ones.

I got the Toyota ones because I remembered about them when I took it in for service and was too lazy to shop around.

They are fitted on and off with an allen key with a plastic cover with it's own (very lightweight) plastic lock.
