I was thinking of doing the same thing, to my 98 corolla, i wonder if its possible to just get a new dial it which already has a rev meter, the same one fitted in the 1.6 corolla.

Yeah i was wondering about that aswell.

Anyone out there with any help on either way would be a great help.
