Hi,

I'm new to this forum so excuse me if I've overlooked the obvious or posted in the wrong place. My son has a 92 Paseo that suddenly started running poorly. Advancing the timing appears to make it run better but not great. Setting the timing to what it should be (10 btdc) makes it run terrible like its running on 2 or 3 cylinders. I've checked/ replaced the plug wires, plugs, rotor button, distributor cap, fuel injector seals, and fuel filter but it still runs poorly. I tried bypassing the t1 and e1 terminals in the diagnostic block to get the codes using the check engine light. It blinks constantly which is my understanding that all systems are ok. I also checked the catalytic converter to make sure it wasn't stopped up. Pulling the wires off the injectors one at a time lowers the idle so that tells me they and the plugs are all "firing". Is there something else I need to check? The coil maybe?

Thanks for any ideas,

Mark
