Speedometer Accuracy

I asked this question in another thread, but it got locked before I got an answer.

Has anyone verified the accuracy of their speedo yet?

I don't seem to have a reading on my Tom-tom, and it's handy to know, what with those new speed cameras and stuff.

My old Yaris was out by 3mph. :)

When i was travelling around New Forest we were in a 40 and my speedo said i was doing 40 but the Sat Nav said 36...

It gets further out, the faster you go but i wont discuss that as i don't want to get into trouble haha

In general i would say 10%

10% is the normal for toyotas from my experiance.. - all my Supras were!

Nice to know I've got a bit of leeway.

Of course, I would never dream of exceeding the legal limit though...... ;)
