Hello,

Can anyone tell me the alternator output for an EP91's(4EFE) alternator??

I've got a Stinger SP800 Battery and have had some problems with it today!!

Had to bump start my car to get it going earlier!! Took it for a nice long ride to my local Shell to fill it with Optimax cos I thought it would charge it up. But when I got back in my car after filling it up, it would not start. I the had to wait 30 mins for the boss to come with her brother to bump me off again. Not good!!!!

Now after reading my info on my Battery, after having it nearly a year. The table of charge info says:

Automotive current tapering charger rated @

10 Amps min 20 hours charge

15 Amps min 16 hours charge

20 Amps min 12 hours charge

30 Amps min 5 hours charge

40 Amps min 5 hours charge

50 Amps min 3 hours charge

100 Amps min 30 mins charge

This is why I need to know the output.

Thanks

Nath

I don't have access to that info, but I can tell you a few simple tests to perform if you have a voltmeter. Start with a voltage reading first thing in morning. Start engine and get voltage while cranking and once running. With engine running turn on every accessory the car has and watch voltage as you go.

A healthy system will have these minimums.

12.2 first test -lower most likely Battery

11.0 second - lower battery/starter

14.0 third - lower alternator/battery

13.0 fourth - lower alternator

Of course these tests are assuming the terminals are clean and tight. As are all ground connections.
