I'm planning to upgrade my alloys from 16'' (oem) to 17'' or 18''.

Do you need a lowering springs too for this?

Not unless you want the car to be lower! Fitting 18's and then lowering could lead to rubbing in the arches due to the increased wheel diameter. 18's with 40 profile tyres do fill the arches nicely.

Most of the Lexus wheels will fit as well, you may find plenty second hand at a nice price. All 5x114,3 PCD and 60,1 centre bore they range from 6,5x16, 7x17, 8x18, 8,5x18, and offset usually ET45 or ET50.

The RX SUV wheels have a smaller offset (ET35), although they're not that wide (6,5x17 or 7x18).

No i did not lower my Verso , my auris i lowered it with TTE springs -30mm B)
