Guys...

Sorry for the daft question...

I have a 2000 model celica VVTI and its just come to 80k

I've searched the forums etc, and i'm almost 99% sure that this car has a chain and not a belt, but just to be 100% can one of you confirm with me whether it is a chain or belt?

Any info on this would be helpful, do i need to do anything with it??? ie have it changed etc...

Thanks for the advice :D

its chain driven. my mechanic said not to do anything with it unless it starts to make noise, implying that is getting loose. I think its supposed to be inspected at 100k for tension, i suppose if your worried you can have it inspected. mine has 80k on the clock to and i have done nothing to it and so far no trouble.

have a look in the workshop manual to see if anything:
