My Yaris Died

My 99 V reg yaris Free-Tronic died a death this week. and from looking on here and other sites, it will cost an arm and a leg to get the clutch or gearbox or whatever it was repaired, and if I did it will probably fail on me again :o( Shame there is no way to convert it to a manual or such like... botheration I loved that car...

Oh well, dads old rover till I can afford a new second hand yaris

That is a pity. It's a shame that something so small could have an otherwise perfectly good car sent for scrap. Could you not find a scrappy gearbox for a few hundred quid and sell it on shortly after? You'd lose the price of the job+ gearbox but it would surely be cheaper in the bigger picture? I could be wrong of course so correct me if i am.

Its the early freetronic gearbox and I wouldnt like to buy one from a scrappy as they were problematic, so knowing my luck the second hand gearbox would be equally as knackered :oP

Also as there are no Freeetronic repair manuals there would be no reference re the fitting
