Hi people.

I am planning on installing a new headunit for my aygo soon.

Can anyone tell me where i can get the fascia that can replace the OEM headunit for the new one?

Thanks

William

You can get one at a Peugeot or Citroën dealer, but most car-audio shops should

be able to order you one too, especially if they're a Caliber dealer, as Caliber has

a bezel too that looks better than the one supplied by Peugeot/Citroën IMHO.

This is the one from Peugeot/Citroën:

And this is the one by Caliber, type RAF-2505:

The problem I have is knowing which radio to buy as I still want the bluetooth to work. Can anyone recommend one that is perfect for the Aygo?

The bluetooth plugs in between the radio and the car, so should be able to work with allmost ANY radio you buy...

What is the little yellow plug for? My radio has nothing for it to plug into.

The little yellow plug has a yellow wire in it that mutes the radio when a call is made or recieved.

A proper aftermarket radio will have a Phome Mute Wire for that function, on all the Kenwoods

I've had so far this wire was brown. Just snip off the yellow mini-ISO and use an appropriate

connector (spade of bullet, as long as it's insulated and the female is on the radio-end) to hook them up.

Most aftermarket radio's also PAUSE a CD or MP3 when muted, while the OEM radio only mutes the

amplifier and keeps the CD running along without sound. Quite annoying with Audiobooks for example..

From those pictures, i prefer the fascia from a Caliber dealer.

I was thinking about buying one from Halfords.

Are they a Caliber dealer and if so, do you know how much it would roughly cost?

Thanks

I preferred the Caliber one too, that's why I replaced the one I

had (the top photo IS mine) from Peugeot with the Caliber-model.

But when I bought my car Peugeot was the only one available.

Don't know about Halfords, but I paid €16 (about £14) for mine at Saturn.

Caliber is a Dutch company, but according to their website they distibute

to 27 countries, so send them an email asking for UK-dealers and you'll know!

Is it not possible to buy one where the yellow plug just plugs in? I don't really fancy snipping wires on my brand-new car.

Thanks Jan van de Wouw.

I've sent an email to Caliber requesting info for the fascia.

Just out of interest tho, how much would the fascia from a peugeot/citreon dealer set you back?

I don't really fancy snipping wires on my brand-new car.

The chance of finding a radio thet will accept the plug is slim, the chance of it

actually working is even slimmer. The OEM radio uses mini-ISO connectors on

the back, but they;re not wired according to the "standard" (as far as one exists).

If you're really that nervous about snipping the wire (from you carkit, NOT the car)

you could opt for making an adapter harness, but to me thet's more fuss than it's worth...

I actually haggled mine into the deal when I bought my car.

The Toyota dealer had to get one from Peugeot :D

But as far as I know they used to be about €10 (£8) or so, might be more now...

It will fit 100%. The price they say you're saving is absolutely rediculous

by the way; £60 will buy you a complete radio, not just a fascia...

What do you mean by a complete radio??

As in the fascia AND a headunit?

They're asking £19,99 for the fascia, mentioning that the price is with a 66% discount.

This would mean that they originally sell the bezel for allmost £60 for a piece of plastic!

For £60 you can get yourself a halfway decent radio that'll even play MP3...

I'd never pay more thatn £15 for the bezel and even that is quite steep for what it is;

material will not be more than a couple of pence, just like the packaging...

Ebay; I got mine for £5.99! Its the same one which the dealier supplies. Will eb from Auto Leads!

Its kool Jan, i followed vicky and looked on eBay.

Damn its as cheap as hell, thank god :P
