Mr2 Ecu = Celica Gen 6 Ecu

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me if the MR2 (1998) ECU would fit my ST202 Gen 6 Celica.

I think they both have the same engine.

Reason being is that I can get a Mr2 ECU with a Unichip piggyback.

If the ECU's are compatable would it be easy enough for me to install onto my Celica.

I would then just need to take it to a rolling road.

If it is possable can anybody give me some instructions on how to replace: ie where my Celica ECU is located etc...

Thanks in advance..

Big E

What year is your car mate??

The ecu is located in the passenger side footwell behind the dash, just unplug it and undo the mounting bracket and replace with the new one.

Hi Paul, I have a 1998 2.0l Gt.

What it is I can get my hands on a 1998 MR2 rev 5 ecu thats got a unichip piggyback on it. Is the wiring/connectors the same.

All I need to do is put it on a rolling road.

If you can answer any of my questions about compatibilty it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Big E

I know on the st205 GT4 you can use rev3 onwards ecu's from turbo MR2's just need to bridge the chargecooler relay but since you have a GT you won't have to do this so I would be 99% sure it will be the same.

Maybe someone else could clarify??
