Cd Unit Facia Question

ive got a problem with my dashboard (which i explained in my previous post about a airfreshner)the problem is theres a mark about the size of a 10pence ,its round and burnt the grey paint of above the cd tray and just below the right airvent..ive been to a garage and he thinks the front will just clip off and a new one can just clip on..is this true?

i did ask could it be painted and he said yeah but itll look bad :(

ive tried looking on eBay for the front and too me it looks like the cd unit and the facia front are all one unit and you cant buy one without the other i cant find any website that has just the fronts on there own..

has anyone actually replaced the front panel and is it connected to the cd unit or can it be bought seperatly?hope some one can give me a answer thanks
