Ipod Interface 'sr' Yaris

I've had my SR Yaris for a year now, and I've tried to get an ipod to work via the USB, but to no avail. I've tried the I-Trip which uses the radio signals, but got brassed off with losing the signal, so I did a bit of detective work and found out which Ipod Interface lead was needed for the rear of the unit. I went on the radio manufacturers site to find out which one they recommended, and it turned out to be the exactly the same one as Toyota got for me. I had it fitted, and it is brilliant. Cost me £95 for lead and fitting, which is excessive for half an hours work, but now I've got what I yearned for - good sound - and instant accessibility to my music, without having to wait for a Memory Stick to load through the USB port. One word of warning, which I didn't find out until I connected my 4th Generation Nano - it did not charge! The lead only played it. This is down to Apple and not the lead. My old ipod did charge. So back to the manufacturers website, and there I found out that not only does the 4th Gen. Nano not charge, but the i-Phone and I-touch don't charge. You have to buy a pin converter, and that is a SCOSCHE PASSPORT. You can buy them on E-Bay for about £20. Once this arrived and was inserted, I solved the problem! Anyway sorry for being long-winded but hope this is useful information for somebody out there!

My lead has just cost me £19 from the States. Its sat at my brother's in California now, waiting for him to bring it over with him next week....

Just trying to decide where the best place to fit it is - whether to drill a hole and hide it in one of the gloveboxes or leave it protruding near the centre tray....

Where do others have their iPod cables?

My iPod cable is routed through the joint below the radio. It just needs clipping to the pro clip to make it a bit neater.post-80291-1247778006_thumb.jpgpost-80291-1247778217_thumb.jpg
