Ipod Dock

Hi,

First post - we've had an Amethyst IQ2 (called Totoro - pic attached) for 3 weeks now, and really pleased, absolutely no regrets. 900 miles up already (lots of motorway miles due to family bereavement). He's faster than I thought, esp on motorways (yes, it's a 'he'). Tried 97-RON petrol the other day, too - makes it even zippier (fuel economy about the same). A great companion for our other car (1979 Mercedes 380SLC) - more space inside and drinks 25% of the fuel!! Only complaint is there's nowhere to rest your foot next to the clutch on long journeys (no big deal).

I thought it was worth passing this on to those without the factory fit ipod connectivity - I got an adaptor called 'Griffin Tuneflex' from Halfords - it's a short gooseneck whch fits in the 12v socket and is pretty much perfectly designed for the IQ. It has a small minijack lead which plugs into the Aux socket - very neat, no trailing wires.

(Also - I can recommend Autoglym Leather Cream - works wonders with the leather seats).

How stiff (oo-er) is that ipod dock - some reviews complain about it falling over during braking/cornering. Looks ideal though.....

I've just bought one.

I've not driven with it in yet, but it seems very sturdy. Once bent into shape, I can't imagine it flopping about. ;)

A quick update,

I tried mine out today, was dissapointed to find that it doesn't charge! Also the supplied cable is *****e, picking up interference. Works OK with a new one though. :)
