D4d Corolla Verso Problems...(& A Bit Of A Rant!)

Recommended Posts

Well, our poorly Verso finally managed to limp back from Cornwall on Saturday. Accompanied with plenty of brown smoke & a serious power loss...!!! Problems started to show a few weeks ago, but I put it down to the wife being fussy...how wrong I was. (Sorry darling).

A loss of power at 2 - 3k revs, like a flat spot but the car would then pull through it.

It got steadily worse & resulted in the unfortunate experience of an afternoon of the holiday spent at a totally useless Toyota dealers in Plymouth.

Basically they eventually diagnosed a leaking inter-cooler pipe. This would cost £136 to fix, on top of the £65 it cost to have the problem "diagnosed".

The part was duly ordered & car booked in for repair. "Great" we thought...but a phone call later informed us that the part was on back order & would take 3 weeks...

You'd have thought that when faced with a family stranded 250 miles from home that they would have at least tried to help but they really couldnt have cared less. I asked if they could at least fashion a repair etc but no. They didnt want to know.

To say we are losing faith with Toyota is an understatement...

Already looking at alternatives.

Please furnish me with stories of your reliable Verso's to somehow try & get back a little confidence in the brand.

Just clocked past the 12,000 mile mark from new and the only work done on the car has been the 12 month service. Getting 500 miles plus from a tank of fuel. So far so good

Hello,

I have to say that I am very suprised to here of a non helpful Toyota dealer. We have dealt with many dealers as we have moved around the country and all without fail have been fantastic in every department.

Our Verso 2.2D4D T-Spirit has never missed a beat and to say I drive hard would be an understatement. Don't go looking at other manufactures either, we left toyota a while back to try others and it proved to be a very costly mistake.

Now we are back to stay!!

Stick with it mate and send a complaint about that dealer to Toyota UK.

Keep the faith!!!!! :D

Well my Verso 2-2 d4d has been great so far !! it has done 40,000 miles and apart from servicing been problem free (touch wood)

I have just put a order in for a new Verso

My only complaint would be the quality of the paint work but think that is probably due to the need to make things more environmentally friendly
