The "Go!" is the one with the SatNav above the radio?

I've measured and teste someones system for this purpose and it looks like it IS possible to do so without

loosing the SatNav! The only drawback so far is that you can't control the audio anymore from the radio.

Currently I'm working out if I can make a harness that can be plugged in between the

radio and the car which will accept the plugs from the SatNav and will have a 3rd lead

that can offer the audio from the MultiMedia to an AUX-in on an aftermarket radio.

But since it's a side-project for me there's no real priority, so I won't give a due-date as of yet...

yeah thats right Jan.. is there something different on the stock cd player as opposed to the aftermarket ones ?

The SatNav gets its power from the OEM radio, my harness will circumvent that.

It will output audio on an appropriate plug (according to ones wishes).

But it will not (cannot) control your MultiMedia. This MIGHT be possible,

but would involve more research and will cost much more too.

If anyone is interested: I've just made my first cable to connect the MultiMedia-Connect to an aftermarket stereo:

100_0794.JPG

It connects in between the Power-plugs for the radio and outputs the audio-signal (music only) from the

TomTom to an appropriate connector. In this case two RCA-plugs for connection to an Alpine with AUX-in

lead. SatNav and Phone-sounds still work over the provided Mute-box even with the radio off.

If ayone is interested in one of these cables, just shoot me an email with your wishes for the audio-plug

and I'll get back to you on that, as I make these cables by hand and don't have everything in stock all the time.

Fair play, you've done a good job there.

If anyone wants one: contact me! I had some orders for them, so while I was filling those out,

I made a couple more. So now it's just a matter of wiring a lead for the audio (plugs as requested)

and mailing it. I'd have to work out shipping to the UK, but I don't think it'll be that much.

And just so I'm clear: I don't really make any profit on making these: I saw it a a challenge to get

this working, so I'm selling at cost plus an icecream, so I at least get something out of it :P

Hi Jan, can you skip tracks using this cable? is there any other converters required for fitting an aftermarket headunit?

As I said above: you cannot control anything on the TomTom from the new head unit...

All this cable dos is supply the TomTom with the proper powers and extract the audio onto a lead that can be connector to an AUX-in.
