hello mate

you have an issue with compound driving shafts (two pcs)due to bad original design. due to an increased gaps in both universal joint cross and in spline drive you can hear some clicks when turned wheel to both directions. this issue is well known for MrT and globally. Beside of that I ve just changed these two shafts on new one and the result is perfect. When investigated previous one -- it is clear visible it was because of gaps. Mine has served 55k kms <=> 33.9k miles. now I am thinking whether or not these used shafts can be rebuild/reconditioned (i presume NO)

I think it is clear.

Thanks for your reply. Just taken it back to the garage. They say i need to replace the intermediate shaft as there is 'play' on the universal joints. I asked for an explanation as it is a 4x4 and i have only done 200000.

you mean 20k miles. I'd ask Toyota to replace the faulty items - thats far too low a mileage to cause 'wear and tear'.
